What will be the societal management of this? Will every single human get issued a unique very long cryptographic ID and every single thing a human does will be recorded with this ID, stored on a blockchain to prevent tampering with it, pre

> Google's culture has shifted. It's sad how once a great company decided to shift towards mushroom management and coding sweatshops like Amazon in just a few years... The amazing Google of 2008 is no more.

I suspect the author didn't grasp how modern AI works by attributing everything to statistics. It's the optimization part that does the magic.

There are no bootcamps for ML. You can get a graduate degree (MS) in 1 year if you get into UTexas' online MSDSO which has a bunch of ML classes (ML/DL/NLP). UTexas itself is a top 10 school in CS so that might put you on the

I am struggling to find any benefit of Rust for startups to be honest. It makes no economical sense to be bogged down by a language that is 3-10x slower to develop. The issues Rust is preventing will pop up earliest in production, likely ra

I agree with you in principle, however it's about perception. For some reason a PhD and even better articles at top conferences are the minimal qualification for great ML jobs. So just having a MS in ML is often insufficient. If you wa

Get a PhD in ML if you are serious, otherwise all you'll be doing is data engineering/cleaning. Eventually, take at least online Stanford grad courses for credit to have some credibility and to be able to stand out.

Ugh, it's like we are living on a different planet. SW engs seem to be now commoditized, all the money and hiring is in the ML space. It's fairly straightforward to get a 2x rate as a ML eng compared to one would get as a fullstac
