If it did as well as Nim the person I'm replying to would not have the issues he is describing.

Right now I'm working on something where the choice was between Nim or Rust. I required integration with lots of C/C++ code and there are callbacks from C that execute my code, Nim was the clear choice. The main app is C that link

There is no need to implement anything for the tablet. But to make the tablet view work on the desktop you need a desktop backend, which is what libui could be.

I would not limit it to DEBUG. Lots of apps have separate layouts for tablets. Tablet views while not ideal, can work as desktop apps.

Have you thought about integrating with https://github.com/andlabs/libui edit: What about maybe as an optional backend? That way one could develop on a desktop easier.

If you're compressing audio, the simple solution is to compress using constant bitrate.

> not backed up by any major company That is pretty much the entire reason. Any technology not being backed by a large player in the industry has a much tougher time getting traction.

Not tearing, but it could reorder the assignment so that it happens someplace else than you think it will. For this kind of thread synchronization memory barriers should be used at least.

Because like I said, if this happened to a Ford, GM car or a Toyota, this would be a nonevent. They don't need them. Tesla going for confidentiality is a consequence of their every move being scrutinized on an entirely different level

Not even remotely the same. Tesla gets into international news when one guy has an accident. Apple got into international news when they made a design/manufacturing error for an entire generation of phones.

Crazy how Tesla as an entire company is scrutinized for car incidents that no one would even remotely care about if it was any other car manufacturer. If this guy had a range rover, or even some other electric car this would be a nonstory.

> Smartphones outsold feature (dumb) phones only in 2013, five years after the iPhone came out. Yes but who had higher profits? That's the real factor. Outselling by itself is meaningless if your margins are poor.

An easily embeddable C lib. Fantastic choice. If only more projects in this space did this. So much stuff in this area is java.

I hate disqus for having no search option. You see traffic coming from them and there is no way to figure out where those comments are. Any information written in disqus comments is only slightly more accessible than the dark web.
