Wow. The effort here is amazing—sad Apple won’t provide for more assistance. If it wasn’t for this project, OpenBSD on Apple silicon (thank you kettenis@!) likely wouldn’t exist.

For what it's worth, I find the Google Assistant better than Siri, but not much better. The functionality of the product hasn't improved much since it was delivered, and this includes the "smart" speaker hardware that th

Thanks! To be honest, I’m not sure what change, or series of changes, finally lead to the app getting approved. As for keeping the permissions that the app has, well, let’s just say, after reading too many posts about developers running i

It's not just with Intel. Apple has 2 years on Qualcomm as well as their phones also have significantly smaller batteries compared to their Android counterparts.

As a little side project I wrote an Android app and went through similar turmoil—guess I can’t feel too bad for myself when the cofounder and lead developer of “~100” apps runs into similar issues. In this vein, I too wrote a similar story

I made something somewhat similar. It too uses text and call logs to make decisions. It's called CommuniqAI and it can be found at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.mtc.ga .

This kind of reminds me of when encryption became a munition in some countries—development moved to countries where encryption wasn’t outlawed. Something tells me a bit of a brain drain will happen if this comes to fruition as groups will

OpenBSD, in general, has better Wi-Fi support than the other BSDs. Not as good as Linux, but improvements are made regularly.

I'm in a similar space. I love OpenBSD for it's simplicity and consistency, but, to my way of thinking, it's missing to much to act at a modern desktop replacement. To that end, I've started running ChromeOS Flex on the

My Pixel phone has largely solved this for me. The built-in Call Screening is stellar and I don’t get bothered by robocalls much anymore because of how well the phone handles these.
