everyone is complaining about this but I'm just really impressed that it's realistic to expect 200kw from inductive charging on a highway! That's cool! I don't care if it's practical.

Wouldn’t the “public opinion” be more understanding if it was clear AI was able to replace humans?

That's what esbuild did for their plugins—which made them useless since it kills any performance gains of switching to esbuild in the first place

It's super useful in big companies. If you want head count, you gotta show numbers. Otherwise projects get canned. This is especially true for projects like the ones shown. Organizations want to know if people are actually using this s

This is no longer true. We're in a post-copilot world now where GitHub is the star of the show for the entire corporation.

I really like this. I think it takes a beginner to create this too—I know I wouldn't be capable of doing it since I'm just too used to git's terrible UX.

Remember this is a Microsoft product. They certainly have the resources to resolve this if they want to.

I want a vi layer for helix. I don't want to have any vimrc configuration, just open my editor and have LSP and everything working immediately. I just can't figure out how to switch to helix keybindings.

I stand corrected—I was thinking of the crates themselves.

no, this is GitHub packages , not GitHub repositories. Cargo doesn't use this. It doesn't use GitHub repositories either, they store the crates internally. EDIT: I was wrong, the crates index does use a GitHub repo

I think Barron's is probably more targeted to people that actually work on Wall Street. I suspect Manhattan finance people make up <1% of the people that subscribe to WSJ.

I bet the paying ones are landlords. WSJ costs hundreds per year and they're stingy with discounts. Apple News is one way to get it cheap, but you've gotta use that reader.

I've seen this behavior with new coders too. They see an error and immediately get paralyzed and reach out for help without actually reading it to see what it says. I think non-technical people see an error message and don't take

You’re correct. I actually spent the summer before I learned Rust learning C++. While that definitely helped learning Rust I was barely capable of writing anything in C++ after 3 months. (Though that wasn’t 3 months full-time)

I thought this is what would be the case but the reason it is slow for me is not because it takes me a long time to get to compilation. (It’s true but it’s a small factor.) The reason is most things are immutable. Frankly I’m just not used
