I prefer the first way, as you can read it left to right and each step is meaningful. "Take the contents of file, process it through somecmd, then save the result to file2." I would hope both commands boil down to exactly the same

If running WP this way becomes popular, plugins will adapt and advertise themselves as compatible with SQLite.

If that's true, that's a flaw in SQLite. The plug might be pulled at any moment and you can't stop it.

Thank you. (I wrote this three years ago.) https://billpg.com/dear-wordpress-please-stop-using-mysql/ Short version: With MySQL, I can't simply backup or deploy a copy of WP by zipping up a folder full of files. T

If I shouldn't use a file copy to make a backup, what does this mean for the possibility that the plug might be pulled at any moment during a write?

Here's a plugin that does the thing you need. 50% of the code is the thing you need. The other 50% of code is stuff promoting the pro version.

For the app version of YouTube, double-tapping the right-hand side of the video area will jump ahead ten seconds. Not exactly an automated jump but this works well for things like VPN ads in videos.

You can do that without a blockchain. Have all those orgs publish their accounts in a form that allows for anyone to make copies and to audit that the published versions don't get modified over time.

Because blockchain solutions to anything are almost always awful. (And I'm unsure about needing the word "almost".)

I used to immediately throw away half of any load of bread I'd buy because it would always have gone off by the time I got that far down. I would love to have moved that half to a paper bag instead and given it to someone else.

Use the temporary variable swap and let the compiler detect what you're doing and optimize it away if it can.

Why would a parental filter modify or otherwise interfere with use-application-dns.net? I'd have thought a filter would pick up the DNS request, see that it isn't on the list of adult-only domains and pass the request along.

"Are parental controls enabled?" I wonder how it does that. Will the browser be making DNS requests for playboy every so often?

Just to underline the point, in the UK, you need to pay a TV License fee to watch any broadcast TV, including Channel 4. They (C4) don't get any funding from this fee.

I tried writing a simple OS decades ago as an EXE you'd run from MSDOS. It would rewrite all the ISR vectors and take over all the memory including the space that was previously used by MSDOS. I was told that because I relied on DOS, w

I know why the button is there, as GET requests are not supposed to change state but POST requests can, and you can only make a GET request by clicking on a link in the email. I'd be interested to see if that interpretation has been up
