Wow, this is just as awesome as brew on OSX. I had no idea that there was an alternative to the hideous command prompt. I installed Windows 8.1 on a desktop last week, and this has finally convinced me that it is feasible to use as dev mach

When I moved to Seattle, I was very fortunate in that CondoInternet served my apartment building. They offered gigabit internet for $120 a month and 100mbps for $60. All after taxes, too. Coming from years of dealing with Comcast, this was

I've seen her work posted around before, and always found myself really impressed. Thanks for the link to that video, I think it may have sparked an interest in geometry for me. And I disagree about the practicality of a dancing bender

Thanks for the link. I can't believe I never knew about that. I've always been making .gitkeep files to get around this. Not sure if it's worth the hassle, but definitely cool to know.

Speaking as Pakistani in his early twenties, I can confirm that I get asked many of the same questions. I have a B.S. in Computer Science right now, but frequently get asked "When are you getting your MBA?" by family members. I ha

I don't think bringing up deprecated functions is valid criticism. Everyone uses PDO these days.

Hey, this is really cool. Awesome work! One tricky thing I noticed was that there was one audio clip that was in Urdu, but it was discussing something written in Arabic. Indeed, the clip had more Arabic than Urdu. Fortunately, Arabic wasn&#

This is really cool. I'd love to see something like this done for other parts of the world as well. I just wish it wouldn't push to history every time you drag around.

Agreed. I travelled overseas this summer, and what I miss most was the tip-free culture. It was so refreshing to know exactly what something would cost you. When I go into a cab or a restaurant in America, the bill at the end always seems t

It's become an interesting phenomena now. The rise in availability of the internet and pervasiveness of social media is making companies accountable for their wrongdoings. Of course, the more prominent/visible the complaint, the m

As a Muslim, I've had to make peace with knowing that I have no privacy and little guarantee of my rights. I recently graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and the NYPD was even spying and monitoring us there. [0] History&#x

Thanks, that cleared things up quite a bit. It seems that it is isolated to Debian unstable. Even that problem should be resolved soon through an alternative JSON extension.

Yeah, I can see it swinging either way. However, the alternative of not doing anything could be just as catastrophic. Politicians always talk about creating jobs as if it were the goal. Jobs are just a means to an end, and creating jobs for

Interesting. I hadn't heard of that until now. It may not pass, but it's amazing to see it even being considered for a vote. And I agree, this thread has been a great read.

I've found myself thinking about this a lot lately. I don't know about corporate law, but I can certainly see many jobs becoming obsolete in the not-so-distant future. Automation is advancing and accelerating like never before, an

The article is a lot more readable if you remove print=true from the query string. If you want to avoid the paginated mess, setting font-family to Georgia and width to 60% makes it pretty easy on the eyes as well.

This is such an incredible idea. I can already see tons of use cases for it. CLI apps can easily demo themselves through this. It even recognizes backspaces! I'm using a patched font with a git branch symbol in my prompt[0]. As expecte

I love Eloquent and I love Backbone. It's awesome to see that you've harmonized the two for Node. I've only used SQL with Node once, and wrote raw queries for the most part. I'm looking forward to refactoring everything to use this. Nice wo
