That's pretty good in my book. I live in Cornwall, and there are lovely girls in Cheltenham just dying to speak to me...

Is heroku's free instance loaded on demand? If not that would be cool as startup times on the ep.io dynamic instances are v slow.

Has anyone worked out where new bundles created within TM2 get saved to though? It's not obvious to me...

Surely worth auto-banning Fox news submissions? There are any number of links to Asimo footage and technical detail better suited to HN.

Loving the new proportional-fonts-for-headings in Markdown. It seems so obvious in retrospect, but it's the one thing that makes writing longer document painful for me in any text editor.

I'm not sure... TM1 actually has some pretty rough edges which don't seem to snag in actual use. It's the only non 'mac-like' app that I've ever grown to love.

Except that if the guts are there to add features quickly, it could have been time well spent. We just don't know yet, but progress over the next month should be indicative (see progress on ST2 as an example of a seemingly healthy codebase

I live in rural Cornwall and see the same pattern, but the reason is probably exposure. So few people drive our roads that even if the risk was much greater you would still see far fewer deaths.

You might also like Barry Schwartz' work on choice overload. His book is nice, but the TED talk captures most of it too: http://www.ted.com/talks/barry_schwartz_on_the_paradox_of_ch...

How is your comment relevant to the OP? How does she demonstrate an interest in controversy?
942.
by bigfudge 15y ago
I agree, but I think a key point off the OP's argument is that a change in our expectations for what girls can and should be doing and worrying about has been to their detriment (increased dieting, watching of beauty pageants etc). Nowhere

>But still, it is normal for the girls to try to look beautiful, just as it is normal for the boys to try to be strong. Except that boys are also expected to be resourceful, independent, intelligent etc... The OP rightly notes that an e

How would you 'check' it, in the sense it could be on a checklist. Are there tools to automate this type of thing?

And more importantly, FaceTime has only been out a year... Right now apple has the clout to force a protocol upgrade on everyone within 1 or 2 software revisions. Opened, they'd lose that, and my guess is that they want to be _sure_ before

I agree, although it would be nice to compare a version where the baseline risk of death is partialled out. It would be really nice to see when the line for a particular cancer flattened out, indicating a person's prospective risk after n y

I never get this. Sure Jobs is a good salesman. But do you think Apple would be such big news on HN if it weren't for the product. I mean just look at the damn things... some people don't like OSX or iOS, but the sheer polish of the Air, Ma

Android is only ahead if you don't count ipod touches. I think Apple has a great chance of being the or at least a major player in this market.

However punting (as in American Football manoeuvre) is not that well known a term in the UK. Perhaps punting as gambling refers to standing upright in a flat-bottomed boat an hoping to remain dry?

This is a serious question: is there ever an occasions when someone working on a real-world project should be implementing linked lists? I've no experience with C, but surely this stuff comes from libraries now?

Yes, but if you're going to pay for an sftp client then Transmit is far superior. Mounts ssh volumes etc.

I'm not sure what polished means, in this context. Do you mean that there aren't entrenched vested interests within the firm, or that people are asked/enjoy being flexible and moving around the product line?

They did, and it worked great on your own machine after a few weeks. The problem was it made everyone else's machines basically unusable.
