I'm currently living in Tunisia, which does not allow currency to leave the country in any meaningful way. You can change a maximum of 10,000 TD at a time, equivalent to ~$5,000 USD, and if you did it many times, they'd probably s

Let's be clear, I wasn't a good student. Keep that in mind with this advice :-) This technique seems incredibly effective, but also way too time consuming. My best advice is to buy a ton of four color pens, and put them everywhere

Once again Capitalism trumps Ethics ;-) It'd be easy to dismiss this as "nudges are just marketing", but I do think he has a point. If a nudge is the ui trying to be a knowledgeable assistant, it shouldn't be dishonest.

I had two thoughts while reading this. 1 - The need for the web to be profitable in some way makes 'single tools' hard to build. You have to grow users, add features, etc, etc. So even if you have an API or something useful it li

I appreciated the minification walk-through more than actually having a tweet solid package manager. Before you get to the range of code golf, less code means less bugs.

I'd say that it hurts _all_ of it's software development, though AI is probably the most obvious genre. If you can't discuss issues with outsiders how do you attract developers who are interested/skilled in those specif

> Fearing GMOs because you don't like Monsanto's practices is like fearing computers in the 1990s because you don't like Microsoft's practices. I disagree. I can live without a computer. I can't live without foo

The issue in the US is that GMO === Monsanto. And Monsanto is very clearly a company that does not care about the long term implications of its science (you think they'd sit on data like Exxon did with climate change data? I do, 100%)
