Comcast is highly behind the times. As a very experienced fiber person - OTDR has existed for decades, this is not new tech, its just new for them to advertise because they're just so bad. If you want DF I guarantee someone else can li

I'm not sure thats true, the D side of California is going pretty hard towards the "far left" aka "progressive" side of things. Its impossible to get elected in the major cities without being a progressive or DSA me

I have some really tasty carp recipes :) I like to eat random fishes and Carp has been one of the hardest to figure out how to accent correctly. It has lots of bones and the flavor of really "in the dirt" catfish. So far Fish Sauc

I'm fairly certain they won't moderate their content. They (IA) view themselves as a library. Librarians have stood up against book burnings and various other social movements that were popular but later looked down upon.

I've had a few people send me links to IA hosted content that were hatespeech related, I'm surprised it took this long to get reported on by MSM. We'll see what IA does about this, I know from personal experience that they do

Its a cascade of bad bureaucrats but the latest one takes the cake in being horrendous. The open violence has exploded, period. The crime against artists in the 1990's was VERY very low, and the rent was affordable.

So valuing that his co-holders didn't want to opensource is good for the open source community? That seems backwards.

And those are? The GPL is far more restrictive, I can't see anything valuable that the GPL would contribute here.

Incorrect, there is zero about the BSD license that would've prevented you from reading the source if it was released with the Free-er BSD license.

Sure, but you're claiming the GPL enabled "reading the source" which is patently false.

You would've had the privilege of reading the source with BSD too, but the GPL prevents a variety of things from happening so its not as free as the BSD License. If you want to read into something - he was bullied into using the GPL an

As an SF native, I can absolutely corroborate this. Its never been as bad as it has in the last 5 years. The Poopocalypse started under Gavin in 2003 and has continually gotten far worse. The new DA has made it 10x worse.

The new DA absolutely does not care about home invasions. There was a fairly spectacular case last year when a home invader was shot by police (because he attacked the police with a deadly weapon) and the DA let him skate. Burglaries are al

Correct, it has since made schools and neighborhoods less safe. Making the lives of criminals easier isn't the answer to solving society's problems with crime.

SF has sadly experienced a pretty meteoric rise in crime but one of the problems is the DA's office is underreporting so the actual number is much higher. A big part of the rise is California's Prop47, it passed and basically made
