I am starting to wonder if I'm getting old in tech years as well, and I'm just 27. It may be a draw for people at an earlier stage in life when being affirmed/noticed/accepted by a group of friends is really important to

Most of us can't really afford to work the idealistic "Not in it for the money" career for long, and every startup has to rethink this mentality at some point in its life. It's better to be realistic early on instead of

Bomb threats happened quite regularly where I went to school, probably 3 or 4 in my 4 years there. None of them were real, but they always got a huge response and shut down buildings. Professors just started giving out exams in a different

The whole idea of bringing people together for more interaction can easily be abused. As a dev at a startup, we just sit at a big table (well, technically 6 desks pushed together). While we have had some great discussions that improved our

How do you regain trust in any relationship? Usually it's a combination of time and repeated demonstration of truthfulness. Right now, no one knows what happened behind closed doors, and the suspicion is still high.

The trust is gone. They shouldn't have waited until they were caught red-handed to come up with some numbers. Doesn't even matter if it's correct now. No one will believe them.
