Yes, both Amazon and Barnes & Noble have the same restrictions on lending: You can lend a book one time for 14 days. You can't access the book while it is out on loan. Also, the book's publisher gets to decide whether or not the boo

That's one of the first things I want to fix when I get time. I actually want to use the 'fancy buttons' gem ( https://github.com/imathis/fancy-buttons ) but I would have to switch the site over to using compass for my stylesheets. Which is

haha yes, you killed it :) It's back up now on a more powerful VPS, thanks for being patient.. Edit: By the way, if you get the "We're sorry but something went wrong" 500 message, that's just because Amazon's API isn't responding. It's l

Thanks! Yeah I learned lots working on this project. I've got a bunch of other things planned too. There's nothing intentionally different about my site from the other ebook lending sites. I did try to make it as simple as possible. I h

Before people ask, yes I do know about the other sites that are very similar to this. I got the idea around New Years and have been building it in my spare time. Even after other Kindle book lending sites launched, I figured I may as well

Is this a joke? Autodidacts are self-directed, by definition. They don't ask others what to study.

That would only work if the most highly upvoted stories on both sites were the best ones.

Corporations generally hire outside counsel to handle most of their legal practice. So Sony (or their subordinate companies) would hire megafirms that employ lawyers allowed to practice law anywhere in the world.

Maybe you're asking the candidates boring questions?. Try asking them moderately probing, but non-boring questions like: "What made you want to go into software development?" "If you weren't a developer, what other job would you want

Not sure if this is an issue with your site or a limitation of MeCard, but having a single name field (instead of first/last) doesn't seem to work right. I just created a contact for myself, and tried scanning it into my Android phone, and

Agreed.. Furthermore I think the whole purpose of this company is to get acquired by Facebook prior to their 2012 IPO (possibly trying to get Microsoft, Apple, Google into a bidding war). We'll see if I'm right. These are smart and well-co

And I'm saying, the acquisition is already planned and these investors aren't investing in Color, they're essentially investing in Facebook pre-IPO without going through Goldman's special investment vehicle. None of the investors mentioned

True, but I just gave it a new acronym :) Edit: I'd like to clarify that the business model I'm suggesting feels different somehow. Yes people have built companies to flip before, but their valuation was still based on what they do as a

You don't think the investors would be happy with $400MM in pre-ipo Facebook shares?

Perhaps we're seeing the start of something new.. B2C = Business to consumer B2B = Business to business B2A = Business to acquisition?

What is far more likely is for Color to try to get themselves acquired by Facebook. If this is their real company strategy, the $41M investment actually makes sense.

I've built something almost exactly the same as Lendle in my spare time, but I haven't opened it up to a wider audience just yet. I'm starting to wonder if it might be best to just keep it invite-only for now.

That's actually a pretty good rule. But I checked the list on Stack Overflow and we might also need to include: Kazzafi - K210 Qadhdhafi - Q331 K210 a bit more problematic, since it matches names like 'KOSOFF'.

Yeah the Sensorly data isn't perfect, but it's crowdsourced from actual people's phones, so I trust it slightly more than the official carriers' coverage maps. Their Sprint 4G data is pretty good. Sensorly is always updating their app and
