This. You can't just throw it into a folder and have to stream. The web server has to support it and then there is encoding and formats.

This is just a way for Google to go "See! They aren't using the add-on. They are giving us consent to sell their data!"

You would have to prove that it was deliberate and not just a correlation.

The big issue with LLM is how can you trust the information it gives you? It could be flat out making all or some of it up.

I don't believe there is anything stopping someone from starting a managed Mastodon service.

The trick is a local first solution like Home Assistant and then use automations. No need to ask to turn on the lights; it just does it.

They already do and it has been that way since "opening" up their markets.

Because authenticated commands removes the liability issue. Hacking the device vs we knowingly let anything send g-code. This is basically the equivalent to having passwords on a MySQL database or redis server. Why on earth would they add a

I disagree. These devices can easily burn down people's homes if given bad G-code. Then they would be sued into the dirt for a security whole a mile wide. Looking at the changes this is about liability.

I think people are making a big nothing burger out of this. Bambu is patching a security issue. Personally I don't want any device or application to send any old G-code to my printer. Like say command the printer to basically destroy i

It's crazy how people forget they already have censored activists during China's takeover over of Hong Kong.

Those likely aren't anywhere near accurate enough. And accuracy matters when being off by a few degrees can mean hundreds of miles.

I have found it does a ok job of writing simple bash utility scripts. Stuff like "I need a bash script that saves my current git branch into a temp file, then another script to create a new git branch based off the value in the file&qu

I have a sneaking suspicion that foreign agents are pushing the hero narrative pretty hard. Trying to encourage copycats causing chaos.

3d printers have changed significantly. They used to be very finicky and hard to get a decent print. Lots of tweaking and it was different for every printer. They have evolved into true click and forget machines.

That's the biggest issue with LLM searching. I cannot trust the answers. Search engines aren't much better, but at least I can check different sources. And to be fair search engines where never meant to be answer machines.

A ton of blog content is still "marketing" content. Even if it doesn't directly display ads. It's "SEO".

The US military has been doing stuff like this for a long time. I remember reading about a dish that would be filed with mercury and then spon. Allowing for adjusting the shape and focal point on the fly.
