Facebook doesn't owe you anything. It's a free service you use and they have any and all rights to change their model at any time. Stop whining.

Agree 100%. Also take into account the context and intent. I jokingly make statements like this all the time and it has literally ZERO effect on my ability to do any job or manage anything in my life.

I love the Startup School talk DHH did a few years ago where he talks about having a product and charging money for it... Pretty hilarious delivery.

Midwest startup meetups started to be flooded with business guys with an app idea looking for a tech guy to build it for 5% equity and no cash... I hate to use stupid teenage acronyms, but "smh" is appropriate here.

I think people tend to get caught up in the hype and fluff of the Bay Area startup scene and worry more about vanity metrics, raising money for "big ideas", and all the bullshit that surrounds our industry. I think ultimately those will be

I've been speaking with the author for the last year as he worked on the book and have reviewed it. Lot's of good material and a great read for anyone interested in building revenue generating side projects. I've got a few of my own side

I enjoy Collections as an idea, but despite the pretty interface, everything they've done so far has been buggy or half-assed. First beta launch and not only could no one connect, but they exposed information that would allow anyone to acc

I'm a big fan of the reimagining of how people interact with the site.. I think that's a major step forward, but I was very displeased with the redesign. I definitely agree a redesign is in order, but I wasn't a fan of nearly any of the de

I'm not sure I like the direction a lot of these applications seem to be going where the point of living becomes to distill all of our experiences and adventures through a 3" screen. It drives me nuts to no end when I am hiking or at a con

How does this compare to human beings in general (and then for men vs women)... I would imagine if you looked at data outside of developers, you'd see pretty much the same results, especially when taking into account the male bias in develo

Once again though, I don't think it's problematic. I often feel that a lot of times, people don't want to pay the entry fee or wait in line to get in (figurative analogy here) and then feel left out. We're in the tech space... If I designe

Then you don't sign up... Startups aren't obligated to give us everything we want and they certainly don't owe us anything. I personally don't like signing up for services using my email and I don't like signing up using Facebook... Howeve
