Or find which IPs are logging in with >N unrelated Netflix accounts. Where N is sufficiently high to minimize false positives. Cases like Airbnb would still get the boot with this strategy. They can even let VPN users map the servers for

Does anyone know a good programming game that is PvE rather than PvP?

Wow I didn't realize it was released in 2006 and there's already programmers entering/already in the workforce that started there. I though it was much more recent.

Has a root cause been identified? Is it a growing pain like coverage gaps / satellite scaling issues or a fundamental issue?

It's not like GME is a fixed supply. Can someone explain why at some point GME wouldn't just issue more shares and capture the short squeeze themselves? Basically you buyback if you're undervalued and you sell (and issue if n

When running an experiment and following poor practices (i.e. p-hacking), results that fit the hypothesis will be accepted more readily and negative results will be debugged or re-ran more often. i.e. The initial error may be randomly distr

If you, like myself, prefer value and quality issue like body panel alignment then I agree, stay away from Telsa for now. But it's subjective. I have friends that prefer an EVs with tech gadgets. And they're happy with their Telsa

FWIW in my field of web performance I'll follow, and ask others to follow, simplified significant figure rules. For instance I'll see people copy down +1.5785% +- 0.10345% improvement. In which case +1.6% +- 0.1% is a better prese

One factor is less opportunities also means less competing offers. Having solid competing offers can boost your initial offer by another 33%. On the next job switch you can now use that higher salary and get another set of competing offers.

You're a bit too quick to jump to that conclusion so firmly. There are other cases. Does you company have internal tools exposed via the intranet? If you happen to know the URI scheme, from say an ex-employee, you're able to exfil

Sadly I think long term mitigating these side-channel attacks is not viable. Although stop-gap patches can buy us more time to get a good solution in place. It's impossible for something to behave in the same perfect way all the time w

Agreed. As someone who has shipped games with networking I can attest that false positives are fairly common and a big hassle to deal with. The article should investigate further or at the very least discuss the chance of a false positive.

You have to look into where that overhead falls: 1) Things that everyone has to do like HR/Legal compliance. 2) Things that you should have opted to avoid like useless status meetings. 3) Things that are productive but have in- direct

Karunamon made a very specific claim in this thread that I quoted. Your response doesn't discuss this claim. I'm interested in what data we have backing that claim.

Long term, a new HTTP META method would be interesting. I wonder if something like that has ever been considered. Providers like Cloudflare would hopefully be more lenient with these requests.

I only meant the top ones. There's a big discontinuity in the data and this mistake is more logical than seeing $3m equity grants that no other site can cross validate.

You can actually get a decent half-way hybrid by shipping WASM but still binding to HTML and using rich Web APIs as appropriate.

That would absolutely wreck performance, particularly startup times. You're not going to beat the performance of having 100 open tabs share the same highly optimized PGO-ed browser runtime by replacing that with 100 different runtimes.
