So housing and food has gone up dramatically, but still "inflation is low" is the story. Doesn't and hasn't passed the smell test in a decade.

I think this is what I've always been looking for, the notation used to describe kalman filters is dense, this looks like my kind of read, thank you for sharing!

I've always wanted to deeply, fundamentally understand a kalman filter, but I usually get lost in the math notation that comes up without the plain language explanation of what that math means.

User hostile? I've found it to be the exact opposite of you consider the user is me, the developer. If anything the language and tooling has gone to lengths to be user friendly.

Why not have a pointer nib, its the reason I've continued to use ibm and now lenovo laptops. Trackpads are RSI inducing.

Creating arch or nix packages is a breeze in comparison. I'd argue nix is what everyone wants whether they know it or not. All this container junk is a recipe for disaster.

I can't even imagine, sometimes I feel like AWS offers this pretty facade of "scale it up easy" and in reality its like "wait, I can't even see why this thing is failing because its a layer below, and AWS support co

There is/was a kernel module from Cern named the same I believe. As well as a Zephyr (RTOS) module named the same that I had worked on. It's a fun name, I always thought of it as zero-copy IO (DMA!)

Pros of remote.. generally less bench warming, you do a good job, make people happy, no one is going to miss you if you take a two hour walk in the middle of the day to enjoy the world around you. Or any number of other activities you may c

Yeah I dunno, react native is a neat idea, in practice it was all pain all the time. Updating, debugging, building, ensuring it worked on all devices, then add in something like Bluetooth LE and the pain grew even more. Would have been eas

I've worked on large C++ projects. Debugging hard to find data corruption, data leaks, data races was one of the most frustrating aspect. In a 200kloc project with 10 devs, there was always a crash worthy bug. Always. Automated tests c

Let me know when every project builds with cmake and maybe I'd agree. OpenSSL and Boost do not. They aren't alone in choosing other build systems. Nix is the only real sane choice in my mind unless you absolutely need win msvc. Yo

Nix seems to effectively have solved this, by more or less vendoring everything, but in a way that still allows shared usage. Having made a few deb and rom packages in my life, I don't miss it. At all.
