Right, every org and individual has their own subset of c++ they use and exclude. C++ may have standards but that hardly matters when projects/orgs/individuals have their own variant of the language that is used. It’s a fallacy to

I really loved the app, the apple weather app layout kind of sucks in comparison. Rather than a simple scroll page to see all the hourly forecast detail the apple app has a stupid drop down.

I’ve read it as well and agree.. the weirdest part is the pre generated vhdl/Verizon for things like rocket cores which are designed in chisel. There’s little to no room for customizing the core, and trying to figure out how to do that

Litex is cool, the ability to sort of throw together a soft SoC on an fpga is neat. Where I sort of lose the path though is how to integrate custom logic in typical hdl, I don’t have a lot of love for migen myself. So in that regard somethi

MIDI is still an amazingly simple, yet useful encoding. To think its been around since 1982 is astounding. I'm excited to see what MIDI 2.0 really brings and if its truly worth the added complexity. The 1.0 encoding is incredibly sim

I love that espressif has managed to port llvm, port rust, and now port their ecosystem to rust. It’s quite amazing. Were their customers asking for rust? Was this an internal thing? Would be amazing to know

That seems to be a real boon for advertising revenue there at twitter. Just what advertisers dream of, their ad next to a post by some antisemitism/racism/lgbt hate. You just lost a large group of potential customers. Brilliant m

It's interesting to see semi fab factories becoming a hot thing here in the states with an entire campus being rolled out in Ohio along with expansions and further growth in the southwest. Can only mean good things for workers as more

At this point isn’t pypy the peak effort on this front? If things need to go faster it’s probably easier to either write it in go or rust, or write a small extension in C or Rust I’d think?

The most striking, and maybe obvious statement, the design of chrome the goal being to drive people to search in google. But of course! I suppose an ancillary design and usage goal is usage tracking in some form as well.

Indeed its pretty infuriating to see how fast you can burn cash, get meager results with no real understanding or knobs to tweak to try and help yourself out. Is it entirely fraudulent? Are your ads showing up on a site that specifically tr

Android is losing a generation, not a good sign for competition. I like my iPhone like many others I’m sure, but without competition it’s likely to stagnate and worse potentially have even higher price points.

This sounds almost exactly like erlang at a lower and even more time critical level which is, super cool. The idea that the kernel does so little is really cool. I don’t know if it’d work at the true microcontroller level where 128k is prec
