I mean, Private, Security, and Efficiency may not be so orthogonal if you consider what sort of data collection is desired for ad targeting, its basically everything. What apps are installed, which are used most, when? where? Which bluetoot

This very closely matches my own experience nearly 4 or 5 years ago now rewriting an ad server in rust from another scripty language.

Cast iron is low maintenance, just don't over think the seasoning thing and don't cook overly acidic things. Cook with oil, clean with soap and hot water (use a plastic scraper if you need to...), dry on the stove and once dry wip

Tock is probably closer to a true RTOS in the sense that tasks have stacks. Maybe also hubris. RTIC, embassy, and probably a few others do ISR preemptive task scheduling and synchronization. This is super cool and probably enough for most p

I think the RTOS side is being addressed pretty well for rust, which libraries do you feel are missing now?

Seeing c, seeing the assembly and memory layout, debugging is pretty easy. More than once I’ve ran into C compiler bugs. I can imagine running into the same issue with C++ being pretty troublesome?

I’m always under the impression that C++ has some issues when it comes to embedded and that only a subset can be used, that the stdlib and stl cannot be used. I still don’t really understand how c++ behaves with exception handling thrown in

So America should defend foreign lands while losing hard earned manufacturing knowledge and tax dollars that are earned on products and knowledge around it. And where is the author hailing from?

I mean I guess it depends on what it does, if it’s like a sequencer that’s fine. If it’s a live recording, live performance with synth plugins and filters and such yeah… I’m highly skeptical.

Aren’t there side effects of this stuff killing other microorganisms in the soil? Like it’s not just the cancer aspect, or the gmo crop aspect. It’s, as I understand it, contributing to arable land loss

Miami's fresh water supply comes from an area that is likely to be inundated by sea water. The city itself is likely to be constantly flooded in the near future. This seems like a short term bet.

At what point is JSON not the right option? Surely when trying to do this sort of thing? At what point is it saner to use something like flatbuffers or capnproto style message encoding instead.

Matrix is also incredibly complicated at this point. A chat room in matrix is like an append only log with rules about precedence to ensure even when federated the resulting state of the room makes sense. That might be the biggest contribut

Very cool, and it’s true Rust is dense. On the other hand C, the other typical option, either requires massive amounts of ancillary tooling and macros like Zephyr to get even close to doing as much at compile time. Those tools and macros ad

Lost me at requiring a web stack in the stdlib. Putting things in a stdlib does not magically create maintainers or community usage. Pythons stdlib is the perfect example. A massive stdlib prevents community experimentation and an almost e

Which C++ do you want to learn? There’s a lot of history there. I’d look at various C++ libraries over the years written in the different dialects. C++ has so many variants it’s really hard to say it’s a single language as each one reads so
