Oh boy I just finished moving my old gulp+browserify(+sass+postcss) config to webpack. It was a bunch of custom nonsense. In return I got a faster build, 20% lighter output and a lot more information (webpack shows size, etc)

Why is this stuff on HN? It reads as pseudo-science.

Why would you need this? The use case of Server Push is to download resources earlier than a browser can request them, but will eventually require anyway. What are you hoping to refuse?

Someone else will do that in the future, both are equally fun projects.

I think this is more of an issue with GitHub not firing another webhook, than Travis. Travis just does what it's told.

Facebook does it well, you can use your email, username and phone number to login. If you don't NEED a username, refrain from using any, it's just annoying. Worse yet don't require one.

Really? I contacted GH support twice and they answered surprisingly quickly and humanly. I wondered how they could do that, given they're so big and with surely so many bogus emails coming in.

Yeah. It used to be plain text, now you can make real applications on it and for the most part they run sandboxed and with little privilege. I think this is a win for both users (who can get full apps without giving dubious software full ac

I feel that they could just charge you to keep a minimum of available instances up. How much does it cost to receive 3600x24x31 calls per month? I'd start from that.

There are plenty of methods for direct transfer already, I don't think a different IP (with its likely non-trivial setup) would make much of a difference for Dropbox. Keep in mind that would you describe would require both computers to

But why. If you're gonna take special steps to handle `util.promisify` you might as well just offer a Promised API and skip `util.promisify`

Promise.all is not even that good. If one fails, the rest of the Promises are lost. It does not wait for all Promises. I prefer something like p-settle most of the time https://github.com/sindresorhus/p-settle

It "works" but foo won't contain the resolved value, just the promise. The code is awaiting an array, which is already "resolved" and its returned right away. Its contents are not relevant to `await`.

require() is dynamic and import() will be too. What are you talking about? JavaScript is not a typed language (yet?) so it's like expecting pigs to fly.

I've been doing that recently with Web Extensions. It's not "easier". After a handful of files I just end up implementing rollup.

If your intent is to load scripts asynchronously and keep their order, just use `<script defer>`. From what I see, you only ever need something like `fetch-inject` if you also want to load stylesheets OR if you want a load callback. I

Think of when you used a retina display for a while and then looked at a non-retina one: "ew, why is this disgusting now?" I think that's what he's trying to say: not that our vision physically improved, but that we star

Text messaging? No thanks. I need free international communication from my computer, not paid clunky international messaging only from my phone. Plus they want to censor and control the conversation; private texting is not happening.

Fish' auto completion is what's been keeping me on it all these years. I tried to switch to zsh and hack some autocomplete on, but it didn't work nearly as well.

Apple did say they were opening it up; then they didn't. How's that bullshit? Even if they did have a legal excuse, that doesn't make it any less true. It could happen again.
