Couche-Tard is atrociously bad compared with 7-Eleven: - expensive - literally any other 'deppaneur' will give a better price - poor selection of 'food' - it's only carbs, i.e. muffins, croissants. ( no chicken or o

I hope so. And that's not only USA-copanies phenomenon. I worked for a french company in Montreal which payed close to zero tax amount even though they are doing more than OK financially world-wide, including Canada.

In Canada hire indigenous people as owner to save on taxes / get preferential treatment. See ArriveCAN (non-)scandal.

Had a similar situation and decided to leave. In the hindsight that was a correct decision. In the end one works for a manager, not a whole company. At least it feels like that for an individual contributor.

This is a ridiculous mix of statements! I don't care how many people have 'supercomputer' in their pockets. On other hand homelessness is rampant in USA/Canada and that's a major fail of the capitalism.

Laptops with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX or Intel Ultra 7 look bleak performance wise and expensive price wise than compared with M4. Snapdragon X Elite is just a flop compared with M4.

Radiologists are cartel in Canada/USA making ~400-600k/year. Those jobs are protected and will continue to be human-staffed for foreseeable future regardless of AI efficiency.

Somewhat related question. Assume I have ~1k ~200MB XML files that get ~20% of their content changed. What are my best option to store them? While using vanilla git on a SSD raid10 works, that's quite slow in retrieving historical data

Folks in USA/CA would remove Safari and then return phone to the carrier/Apple as defective. No, I'm not kidding. I saw that multiple times - Windows messed on laptop? Laptop within return window? Return it is!
