No offense but Australia, UK very much tend to have the same mentality as the US, from an exterior point of view.

In our visible spectrum. Maybe (I don't know) black faces have more contrast in some other "non-visible" wavelength, and it's just a matter of using the right camera.

GNOME terminal works well for me. And from experience I'm not surprised the terminals cited in the blog post don't work.

It is manipulation. Different countries have different values systems and people in there don't need huge cars and huge houses to feel like they are better persons.

Leases ? You didn't understand how it works. Boss has a company. Boss buys some big office. Boss rents its office to its company. Some systemic tax rebates apply. Boss gets even more rich. RTO is a nightmare for these people.

Yes of course, but the original example was Blender, running on today's hardware. IMO this is just sloppy engineering in this case.

By using a GC language you avoid a few of them. By using Rust with a proper framework you should avoid most of them, if not all. A proper type system can save your ass very often.

I don't think so. Serializing is IO-bound, if your format is "simple" (e.g. CBOR) you can't measure the difference. All this look like BS to justify laziness to me, and makes loading/saving operations fragile and se

Indeed. It's exactly the same (albeit on a different scale) as NTP synchronization, where you can frequently (ha!) reach a few ms accuracy over a hundred ms latency network.

Chip making is in a really sad state of automation. There's lots of money poured into very ingenious products, but the major incumbents have to real incentive to standardize, so you still have some unstructured file formats (SPICE) wit

How can you call a method on a type if you don't know anything about it ? How do you even know the method exist without some dynamic casting of sorts ?

C and C++ are very different from a C/C++ (ha !) programmer's point of view, but from a more general "computer scientist" point of view they are nearly the same: AoT compiled language, no garbage collection, typed, fast,
