Truly paranoids are/will/should use Bitcoin or Litecoin. I don't get why pricing is USD$ only, it just seems that cryptocurrencies are perfect for this kind of service.

If it's not a big project, I think you will be good with Express. I've never taken the time to get deep on it, but it seems like the default framework for Node projects, and is easy to use, especially compared to Django :)

First of all, at this moment Codecademy only teaches Javascript, so you don't need any Ruby knowledge. Also, I think it has several "Start Programming" lessons for starters... It should be a good starting point.
