Finding a compiler from your new language to your work language is a great way to practice this. I became interested in F# and found a F# to JS compiler. I can write F# code and call it from JS and do it in any toy code or side project I ha

Much of the PPP loans taken were fraudulent, wasteful, unnecessary and inflationary. Businesses who had no need for them took them and had their best quarters and year. The market sloshed around and shot up with all this 'free' mo

To further this, if you have 200k of VTI/VTSAX or of a non vanguard alternative, that's $15,000 of Apple stock alone. It's about 6% of VTI currently which will hold true of any broad based market fund. If you own a tech secto

Grubhub is one such site when trying to cmd+click on a restaurant. It's absurd their engineers haven't fixed something so simple.

I've begun IF and have found it helpful for losing weight. What works for me is one meal a day being dinner with a workout an hour or so after I finish eating. I may also workout before dinner, after I finish work. I use an apple watch

I've noticed this too and its extremely frustrating. The intro logo plays before every episode, there are commercials for other paramount+ shows. It's very frustrating and deceptive. I will quit it soon.

I’m with you on the words or character part. As others have said for line numbers using relative numbers makes it easy. I end up doing stuff like dt( to delete up until the opening parenthesis or ci’ to to delete inside quotes. Otherwise as

I’m a bit confused. In NYC we recently completed the swap to Omny which supports any contactless payment - physical card, apple pay, google pay, etc. This is available in all trains and buses. The only exception is when transferring to the

The national debt field. I believe it is inflation adjusted and if the US were to 'magically' create a coin worth 31 trillion dollars, that number would go to 0 and we would be able to pay off the entire thing. There would be no m

That is correct. Inflation reduces existing debt. The problem is we continue to issue new and more debt at higher rates so the total amount still only goes up.

It's pretty hard to change your job every few months or even every year. With persistent inflation, you'd need to do so to maintain purchasing power. That's a danger of persistent inflation. There are others. It must be stopp

I think it's in the order of magnitude of ~5 years until the refresh rate is good enough. I meant high refresh rate in context of eink screens today. I want a refresh rate nearly as good as a normal monitor (~120) but I'd be happy
