Are other people only having a single email per year? This year I've had three (two in September, both from donate@wikimedia.org, and one from jimmy@wikipedia.org in October saying 'We've had enough').

I share similar sentiments as the article's author: I donated once ~4 years ago, and have been *completely* turned off donating again (despite wanting to, and knowing I should for such a fantastic resource) by such agressive emails, be

Anyone know what GPU "codegen" it's using on PC? Tech specs say GPU needs Direct3D 12.0 capable card, but I'm not convinced that's for GPU compute, but maybe it is a compute shader?... I'd assume OpenCL for cro

Maybe not, but as someone in the VFX/CG industry where Python 3 is only just being moved to this year (still on 2.7 mostly) because we didn't really need unicode, getting rid of the GIL in 3.0 would have very likely made us jump t

I think you're confusing me for the other poster - that was the first time I've responded to you... I haven't moved any goalposts. Arnold has only been GPU accelerated for a few years - not since 2013. Same with Renderman - X

Mental ray is no longer heavily used in the industry for feature films: it hasn't been since ~2013 (when Arnold came around). After Effects doesn't really belong on this list? Gazebo is a preview renderer explicitly designed for G

However, if you just want a very minimal subset of a JSON response (i.e. a 'status' string field out of say 20 other values in a map), is it not better to just look for one field, as opposed to have to create an entire struct in R

Very unlikely they'd use that code directly - would likely be easier to re-implement the features wanted natively in the blender codebase... On top of that, there were always suspicions that some of the Shake codebase didn't come
