I've had the opportunity to chat with many ex-bank developers and based on those discussions I'm as positive as I can be, without my own personal experience, that this is assuredly utter garbage. The last two I've spoken with

Doesn't a grocery store give their product manufacturers those things as well? Distribution, traffic, logistics, marketing.

Is this only being down voted because of tone? I am curious if there actually are any laws relevant to this situation. As far as I can tell, this is exactly like Walmart or BigBoxCo pushing their own brands. It's not illegal and, gen

You're right, I didn't say I lost weight at the same rate. Oh well. Cool? It seems you're mostly interested in your own opinions - both with regards to my empirical evidence and your connotation of the word. I'm not inte

Partialrecall - my concerns are my own but the point I was attempting to make has nothing to do with what you're talking about. All of which I agree. My point is the body is very complex and any attempt to simplify it is doing a disser

I addressed your concerns over my TDEE by stating both instances occurred under the same level of activity and general conditions. In both instances, I lost about the same amount of weight weekly as well. I've also been counting calori

Yeah, I lost 100lb from calorie restriction over the course a year. Eating the exact same things just less of it. There is no panacea for weight loss - everyone is different. A book is not a source. Providing a book and then cavalierly sayi

You might try clicking the link I provided. The Wikipedia page details the virus and provides links to other sources one of which was conducted on chickens where they measure input/output and still saw positive weight gain.

Your strawman is implying I was trying to refute CICO. I never said that - I said people don't count all the outputs.

I'm not sure how I could have made that any clearer. I included (show correlation) specifically for that very reason.

I want to expand a little bit more: The body can be simplified down into an input/output black-box - almost like a thevenin equivalent. But most people unaccount for lost energy in the output. No two bodies are alike and no two bodies

Losing weight and gaining weight is simple physics. Nothing about the body is simple. - There is a virus that studies suggest (show correlation) increase weight gain [1] - There is a study that shows water in != water out (unfortunately

The website dev is generally the one paying for and providing the website... Why is it you expect the provider to bend to the whims of the user? The user doesn't need to use the website. That's like saying Crest should make orange

No, and I generally agree with the sentiment that poor UX is bad for the user. I just disagree with users pushing their palate onto others. That's not how it should work.

I'm not sure one 20 year old study of 200 inmates from one state is representative of the population. Besides that, it's inarguable that for-profit entities need profit to exist. You could claim that some for-profit prisons have l

I re-read the article - and that's just not what the article implies. They make the implication that there's a reduction in "code to type". I suppose this is just an exercise in pedantry though. I'm excited, regardl

My point was the post is misleadingly saying: "These 15 lines go away and are replaced by this 1 line". That's not what's happening (unless I'm mistaken) and the code examples are comparing apples to oranges.
