What am I missing here? Sick, homeless people somehow linked to the gay community? Can you connect these dots for someone who is not in the know?

I think there is a little more to it but housing is certainly one reason.

Sure, I follow you but why would this start killing people in mass? Wet bulb temp is technically “deadly” in Houston every year with relatively few deaths.

This is pretty strong conjecture that is the exact opposite of what is currently happening. If Texas is such a terrible place to live, why are so many people moving there?

Dogs seem to share some things in common to us which are unique. For example, both people and dogs will scan faces in a similar way by looking at the mouth and eyes in the same pattern.

If we collectively decide “yes” then maybe we can finally start devoting more resources to identifying and treating the underlying causes. Let’s get rigorous and start separating snake oil from real science backed treatments.

Seems unlikely. We are in a very rural area with only a couple homes per square mile. They typically line the roads where the grass is short and are referenced by settlers when they first came to the area in the 1860s

Saying that the fatality rate is around 1% is pure fear mongering. Maybe 1% for highly at risk populations like elderly and immune compromised people but nowhere near 1% for the general population.

These weather patterns aren’t new or all that strange. This set of conditions periodically occur over time. The difference is that now people have hyper awareness of uncommon but normal weather events. Cue confirmation bias.

I think most people that struggle with work from home aren’t suffering from a bad home environment, rather they require more hands-on management.

30 years is far too low. Most homes built in the US will easily make it 70 years. Heck, I’ve seen many trailer houses that are in decent shape and >30 years old.

Right, but if you're saying that some % of people needs to be in an office to be productive a given company can let those people go, but they have to work in an office somewhere , right?

…right What is the point of inserting politics into an argument like that? You instantly lose 50% of your audience and the only upside is some smug feeling from virtue signaling.

It is easy to imagine that (some) Yelp sales reps are following an unofficial playbook to manufacture negative reviews around the time they engage prospects. If one sales rep is caught, easy for the company to label them a rogue, bad actor.

The business isn’t “buying itself” any more than a house does when you purchase it. The debt is just placed against the assets (real assets and cash flow). The business has owners. It doesn’t “own itself”. I don’t think it is predatory at a

First of all, what do you mean by "Rural living"? Living in a town of 20k people? 10k? 500? Or on an acreage/cabin a half mile from neighbors? All of these are pretty distinct experiences. Let's just say any town <20k
