On the contrary, I believed that most “tech-savvy” people were ecstatic that not only was the scummy behaviour of some of the largest tech enterprises finally being reined in, but smaller companies were finally incentivised to take our info

The 5c was essentially an iPhone 5 (the previous years iPhone) in a plastic shell, with some other minor differences. Given that Apple are continuing to sell the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 you could say that the spirit of the 5c lives on (iPhone

I agree emphatically, and it’s why I’m a member of the BCS (British Computing Society). It’s absurd that we have people building essential public infrastructure with close to no repercussions when their failure screws people over.

After they announced they were removing the ability to top up via debit card I was concerned as much of their utility at the time came from being able to share costs with friends from an isolated account with a lower balance. The app has lo

You can however consistently swipe from the left side of the screen to go back. There are a couple of apps which I suspect were not written by iOS users where this functionality is broken (such as Valve’s Steam iOS app), but those are far i

To my eyes this seemed like a completely normal amount of whitespace. The only thing I personally prefer that you would reasonably reduce is moving the left block delimiter from its own line (But left block braces being on their own line is

As a former windows phone user and .NET developer who is currently a mobile developer, Microsoft definitely treated mobile developers worse than any other company. They killed what small progress they’d made on their ecosystem 2 times, simp

Didn't their ad business fail because they refused to share/collect as much user data, and hence advertisers were less willing to spend on their platform?

I’d be interested to see how Siri performs on different devices. The Siri on your phone is not the same Siri that you have on your Apple TV. The Apple TV version is much better at giving information about tv shows, movies and music, but ter

True, but then it's not on one line anymore, and the code likely ends up on more lines. If only there was some other version of the code that took up less lines and characters... :)

Microsoft was hit with an anti-trust suit in Europe at a time when they had >90% market share in desktop computing. Bundling Internet Explorer was seen as abusing their dominant market position. In Europe, iOS has around 20% market share
