Yes. I was introduced to Firefox OS in detail at Mobile 2.0 the other day, and I instantly fell in love. This is what the world needs: an open platform designed for the people who don't already have an Internet connection, let alone an iPho

I've quit coworking spaces because of the music before. Not only is it annoying, on the occasions when you do need to take a call at your desk, it sounds immensely unprofessional. (Aside: I wish more coworking spaces had phone booths for

Diaspora and some other platforms are federated communities - in other words, they federate between collections of multiple people. Here, the decentralized social activity occurs between individuals. It's decentralized all the way down.

A hosted service, extremely simple APIs and libraries, and some really great end-user clients will go a long way. Make it easy, in other words, and don't make it technical (except for the people who want it to be).

Confirming that I intend to write one for (gasp) PHP. NB: I am the technical cofounder of elgg.org, and I believe software like Tent is (part of) the future of the social web.

Isn't this something Activity Streams could be very useful for? Activity Streams is also JSON-friendly.

For me, I don't care if it's a bubble. I'm not going to stop using Twitter any time soon, I don't think - but I'd love to have another network that's full of the people who will self-select to join this. Ultimately I think they'll end up dr
