I would use www.webflow.com to build your pages, and then take the output CSS, HTML and JS that it exports and upload that. You could probably make a static CSS and a static JS that works for all of your pages and then just reference that i

I work as an iOS engineer, and got my job 2 months after graduating with an Art degree and a minor in advertising. Your degree really doesn't matter - just get one and become really good (work at a professional level) at something at t

Ask about almost everything. Workflows, who to talk to to make things happen, etc. Seriously, ask about everything. It doesn't make you look bad (unless you keep repeating the same question and don't get any work done).

I'm not sure how much I'd pay since most of the web stuff I do is toy anyways. However, I think there's a big market for this - just like I think there's a big market for this for natively developed apps as well.

I absolutely think about clean and quality code. The easiest way to do it, in my opinion, is to write the most customizable and modular code from the beginning. Because, inevitably, mid-project you'll want to use something you've

When you're battling with semantics to skirt by underlying truths and morals, you should notice there's a problem. Maybe I'm alone in this sentiment however.

People just expect 10 Heroku dynos to handle the load when that's not even close to necessary haha.

Which is unfortunate, cause a site demo would be great to see when everyone has their interest piqued. Hopefully we'll see another Show HN when they actually launch.

Obviously it's not, but their documentation is by far the most extensive - even community support amongst devs for the language is higher than Android.

Exactly. I'm sure it's because they won't have one ready for the holiday season, less because they aren't working on one. It would be foolish not to at least have their hands in the 4k display game with their vertical in

2012 MacBook Pro non-Retina with a 2.9 dual-core i7, and upgraded to 16gb ram and a 120gb SSD. That's my main computer. My college was selling 2011 macs for 1/2 off last April as a "fire-sale" kind of thing where they cl

Exactly my guess too. There's no way they make a Mac Pro that can make a 4k display look good without making one themselves. My guess is after Christmas though, maybe a Spring event of some sort.

Maybe I'm a bit biased as a more seasoned iOS dev, but I think that the entire development experience for iOS is a lot more fun than Android. This runs the gamut from using Xcode and contributing to the community, to launching apps and

If you can maintain a competitive advantage while open sourcing your code, then I think it's better to do so. I mean your whole shtick is teaching people to code - so open sourcing follows naturally from that. Keeping up competitively

As for the first part of your question: a portfolio and subsequent small code test with them doing it live in front of you should give you a basic understanding of if they know how to code or not.
