Depends. If it was because someone in the office told them they were doing subpar work, then yeah, that matters.

I'm 24. My first try at designing and coding a website, for the game Animal Crossing: http://www.angelfire.com/ar3/acguardian/ It's pretty bad haha, but that was me at 14.

I'm 50/50 on this. A pot conviction doesn't matter - a murder conviction might (depending on circumstances, I guess). Why should someone be shamed for life for something that isn't a big deal, and has no bearing on profe

Would be cool to have a 2 player or 1 player option for iPhone in the future though.

Yeah I guess part of it is a good feature, depending on if it lets you do this. But that's still in cahoots with the other "bugs" if you will stopping it from actually being useful in this scenario.

Yeah the one I'm using is encrypt-then-MAC for AES-CBC, so I guess I'm good in that aspect.

What about bars? A lot of bars I go to hold onto your card until you tab out. I'd hate to keep getting notifications about losing my card every time I'm out on the town. When you go back up to the bar, they ask what your name is t

How related are these encryption vulnerabilities to encryption we may do in our own software (stuff that necessarily doesn't depend on SSL connections)? As in, is AES-CBC still okay to use if I'm using it correctly in a program th

So obviously the real question is about PasswordBox's security. Does the server do the encryption/decryption or does the client do it, then send the info to the server? I'm working on an iOS/Mac OSX app that should be la

You can't really, and that's fine. Just after a snap has reached it's time limit - literally delete it. That's all you have to do to prevent snaps from staying on the system.

I think it comes down to a couple tangible, measurable metrics: language barriers and time of work barriers (ie you send an employee an email and the reply back at 2am your time). Then, I think anecdotally, quality of work is another percei

I love Crichton's stories more than any other author. Pirate is the one that was finished posthumously, right? I've been meaning to pick that one up.

Less people suing would reduce that. The problem is that people sue over everything, so why deal with the hassle when you can go into defense mode early and stave off frivolous court proceedings? I agree, it sucks.

You should do a TOMS model for this - as in, one person pays for the meal and chance to meet/greet with founders, developers, and SV leaders (unfortunately biased towards wealthier people). Then, you give away a "meal" to a p

I've rewritten my entire Hacker News client for iPhone to be a lot cleaner and use libHN now too, so you can see it in use here on GitHub: https://github.com/bennyguitar/News-YC---iPhone

This is the real winner of the confusing acronym debate. Thank you little league for forcing me to think that startups only need an insane athlete to start getting users and feedback to mold the product.

What is utility measure of? This analogy is way too simplified to be of real importance. There are more tools that go into building a scalable, maintainable table.
