Fair enough, not sure where I heard that from. Maybe it's more troublesome in the UK, or just a misconception on my part.

I think about this apocalypse scenario more than nuclear war or anything else. In no time at all we've made the systems that underpin our survival dependant on brand new, high technology that can be blown away like a cobweb. If we lear

The RX-8 just ended up being a discontinued anomaly that needs specialist mechanics to get serviced, to my knowledge. Can’t see this taking off at this juncture unless I’m missing something.

I've used adblockers since they were invented and rarely experience the unfiltered internet. In recent years, though, I've wondered if it might actually be better to turn that all off. Are we adblockers just getting a more purifie

It still should radiate into the house, helping to bring the temperature up to the thermostat point. If you're capturing any of that heat and converting it for any reason, your boiler's simply going to have to work harder to do it

Might be a daft question - will people eventually be able to write their own PS2 games using this engine?

I wasn't keen on Crash 4. I appreciate they were trying to do something different, but whacking up the difficulty and having to scrap the lives system to compensate just felt lazy and disappointing. Striking a reasonable difficulty bal

I've read that the PS4 ports are bad and that the PS3 ones were the way to go. I haven't compared myself, though.

I absolutely loved Jak and Daxter and still run through it every few years. I think it was the peak of the 3D platforming era. Jak 2 with its fantasy take on GTA was excellent, too. I'll never understand why, compared to the other Naug

You're right - but when you look at the list of Playstation exclusives vs Xbox exclusives, you'd hardly know it. A lot of people buy Playstations because there's nothing of interest on Xbox that they can't have.

It's not like Microsoft couldn't have done that from the start. They were the software company, after all, so they probably should have done. They're both over 20 years into the game, now.

> Microsoft has not been making money on xbox. They're not investing money made with xbox. They're using Office/Windows/Azure funds to boost Xbox, and it's not a fair fight. Sony and Nintendo don't have that

Spot on. The UK is a particularly acute example. Dwindling fossil fuel reserves is something that most people have known about for decades, now. I used to frequent forums, read books and watch documentaries about Peak Oil as a teenager in t

“We had a chance in the beginning of this pandemic,” Maria Van Kerkhove, the WHO’s technical lead on Covid-19, said Tuesday. “This pandemic did not need to be this bad.” Like in February 2020 when the WHO was downplaying the risk on a daily

I don't remember the details, but remember reading that attack wouldn't have worked under US aviation rules, that it took advantage of some EU protocol oversight which was subsequently rectified. Don't quote me on it though.

First gen Ryzen is unsupported? That's hilarious. My 1800X goes like a bat out of hell for everything I need it to do and I have zero intention of upgrading it. They can keep Windows 11.

If UFOs are real and their existence has so far been dismissible by benefit of the doubt (that the pictures and footage are fake), then the era of deniability may be ending. We’re surely not far from cryptographically verified social media
