Why only 50% of the ad spend? I think the article makes the case that all ad spend is moving to digital. Probably not ever reaching 100% but a lot closer to 100 than to 50.

Cool project. How long until the norm of video capture is 3D? Funny that they put the nose & mouth on it to "reduce creepiness". I found it had the opposite effect on me.

Should we be worried about this? Sounds like there's some growing pains at Github but is this really trending toward some kind of meltdown?

This is the most interesting story I've read in the build-up to the Super Bowl. Much more interesting than all the fluff pieces about an obscure, special teams player.

TechCrunch had a piece on this today ( http://techcrunch.com/2016/02/02/ar-startup-magic-leap-raise... ) I find it interesting that the top image (of the floating robot) has the text saying "no special eff

Is IPFS proprietary? Have they even gotten far enough along yet to really know? OneDrive having a web client doesn't make it open. If you think about OD as just a way to access and share files then it's probably open since the web

Everything you say here is 100% true. Mozilla believes in the open web and, I'm speculating, they didn't like the direction of closed mobile ecosystems so they had a go and tried a different approach. I applaud them for trying.

Fair points. I think it's more nuanced. Native apps are great and necessary for many scenarios. However, there are a ton of native apps that could be just as functional as a responsive web site. Sure there were issues with discoverabil

IMO the bigger reason to lament the loss of competition here is the app model: Firefox OS was pushing for "apps" to be web apps. That seemed a lot more open to me than pushing for apps to be proprietary (Android, iOS, Windows, etc

Microsoft continues to shoot itself in the foot here. Nearly two years ago at BUILD they announced universal apps for Xbox One. A year later the new term, Universal Windows Platform (UWP), was being used and another promise of opening up X

I'm saddened by this because I am not a fan of the current state in mobile where everything is an app. I liked their idea of having 'apps' be about the open web. Sure, native apps can be great but I don't want to be lock

All these comments, while interesting, miss the point: how on earth does one trust Google with their router? Google makes some great products but their entire business model requires them to hoover up more & more data from customers

Thx for sharing that. That article says nothing about SCOTUS ruling so I wonder if this will eventually be challenged at the highest court. I can't imagine a business owner going to prison as you suggest.
