Actually devs focusing on Ops lead to development of the automation we use today for most Ops activities, so I would say that is a success.

You need to also look into why DevOps became a thing. Because devs were sick of the BS dealing with Ops teams (want a server, that will take 6 months to provision). So devs decided they could do it themselves (with better tools).

Your comment reads as a deflection from the fact that human activity IS the cause of the climate changes we see today. Without that the climate flux would likely be nowhere near as rapid, and we might not be scrambling to adapt.

Keep in mind they don't just allow any old code to execute in the kernel. They do have rigorous tests (WHQL), it's just Crowdstrike decided that was too burdensome for their frequent updates, and decided to inject code from config

The Internet (and especially the Web) is not so much the content, but how it is linked. Without a doubt the way we link (quality) content and hide the drivel should|will|MUST evolve. And that evolution may produce something unrecognizable f

In the 90s we dreamed of replicators, holodecks and supportive technologies. The crew of the Enterprise certainly didn't walk around with their head in their tri-quarters all day.

In Australia power companies will butcher any tree that gets close to overhead powerlines. Understandable, but result is an ugly streetscape and very little opportunity for green spaces outside parks.

A lot of what the EU is doing is to protect against predatory behaviour of big tech and others. People don't deserve to be exploited if they are not capable of protecting themselves in a "wild west" Internet.

I read it as wages, which makes total sense. A well-off person in one country could earn less than a poor person in another.

I would add that tapping your card in Australia now will typically add a service fee on to the price. Also there are some cafes and restaurants that have 10% surcharge for public holidays, etc. So the hidden costs are creeping in, but thank

Is that how you would build a football team? Hire 11 strikers/forwards, etc. because they all have merit? Team building takes more than just looking for talent, there needs to be diversity of opinion, experience and culture to build th

We currently use JIRA for tracking practically everything, including objectives. Whilst I don't really like JIRA, I think this kind of tracking of objectives, initiatives and delivered results is a good way to capture OKRs based on rea
