Next decade seems possibly false - if Intel starts getting deals and commitments now, it takes them about half a decade to build a fab. Agree it seems unlikely though.

Yeah but Zig essentially has till Mythos releases (and arguably less time) to fix their policy. OSS that doesn't take LLM security reports at that point is a liability.

Reading this article in the context of the Zig folks refusing to even consider LLM-generated bugs certainly shapes my perspective on what technologies will be in my toolchain.

The value generation is for passive observers: it is theoretically more informative to be told that there is a y% chance of x from someone with a financial incentive to be right. (also, we allow plenty of zero and negative sum interactions

I understand the hostility to them getting into sports betting since that seems to trigger a particular unhealthy impulse in young men but your anger should be first directed at the companies that are 100% sports betting (DraftKings and the

I don't think it's actually that hard - 5 minutes of skimming on Reddit will do a lot. You can also usually see Wirecutter's recommendations (even if they paywall the full article). People just don't care upfront but com

The melodrama of this article really rubs me the wrong way, especially when some of the brands they mention do still make good backpacks (like The North Face). The author acknowledges that with "it's a deliberate segmentation"

They changed the terms going forward so you’re changing your behavior going forward? Nobody but the psychos you’re making up would think you’re out of line here. They’re not required to offer the same product forever and you’re not required

Even if you could fix egregious cases like directly sharing location, I'm pretty sure any access to the internet could be compromised via clever use of data brokers.

I think most computer users dislike this but I see a ton of normal folks do this, they don't have the same conceptual boundaries folks on this site do (myself included).

This isn't incompatible with the agent placing the purchase. I already let Claude Code do _most_ of what it wants but make it ask permission before sending a message on Slack. An LLM having the capability to do X is not incompatible wi

I don't think anyone really disputes what should be done when an LLM violates copyright in a way that would be a violation if a human did it. Questions about LLMs are primarily about whether it's legal for them to do something tha
