The concepts of internal DSLs and external DSLs is relevant here. The article is an internal, to Python, DSL. It runs in the language the tool is written in. Mermaid is an external DSL. You can’t build a Mermaid renderer in Mermaid. For dia

I don't think it's necessarily either-or. If he had the time to personally write the tweet, I think he would be willing to lend some engineers to help get them set up with their services.

With more than 10, I tend to prefer the term department, though the term department could also be used for an organizational division with a smaller number of people. The way Cloudflare has Departments on their jobs page fits my mental mode

The GitHub Next team sounds more like a department than a team . It also sounded odd to hear that a group of that size uses and loves something that is unlikely to be used by a large percentage of the team directly. Yay corporate motiv

"None of those" refers to everything in the bulleted list in the comment I replied to. The one that I think Apache Spark is similar to is GitHub Spark, because they're both developer tools, and AI adjacent.

Apache Spark casually gets called Spark, and it especially gets called Spark when referring to subprojects. For instance there's Spark Core, Spark Streaming, and PySpark. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Spark

None of those is anywhere near the ballpark of similarity that Apache Spark is in.

Whether it's a namespace collision or not, it's uncool of them to steal the name of Apache Spark, which was an influential project in machine learning, and must have helped generative AI get to where it is today.

I might like bold but only if the colors are dialed down. I have never really given mixing in cursive fonts a chance, so maybe I should try it ( don't knock it before you try it ).

The complete uniformity combined with the connectedness of letters feels odd to me. I guess I have an association with connected letters and handwriting. However I'm not sure I want oblique attribute names either, nor bold keywords. I

Awkward that it's written in the third person. I can't stand the cursive text in the Sublime Text and vscode themes, and to me that goes against what I conceived Monokai to be, having been introduced to it through vim in a termina

Often it's the opposite. When you aren't very good at something, you have to work twice as hard. I've met plenty of men who thought that programming was cool so they became obsessed with learning how to code without having th

I think that for some things user intent would be better expressed as customized ORM than SQL queries. If the ORM isn’t customized and is just generated from the tables then, yeah, not much of a help.

AI can give better responses to a lot of requests when it has a well designed high level API available. And many ORMs don’t produce well designed APIs but it seems this one will.

No, but when tabbing it's often more usable to have the outline look the same across different types of elements, and having a separate focus style from hover style makes it easier.
