I feel like there is a more constructive way to outline in which ways this solution might need to be improved to be suitable for various real-world use-cases, without focusing on whether this submission qualifies as HN content.

Would love to see comparisons to other languages for the other metrics used here too, not just the easy ones from github. :P

Modules are still in a beta pre-release kinda state, I think most people would stick to dep even for new projects right now.

Some of the stuff that makes it work is unfortunately apparent later than the warts. Try to think of it as a domain-specific language for implementing simple http endpoints. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If your project is a library, I'd expect that people are gonna use it with, like, maybe not 5 but probably 2 or 3 different compilers, and they're gonna be less diligent about upgrading their compiler versions than mainstream brow

Consider that there's a near-limitless amount of truthful facts that can be posted in any given comment thread. You need more criteria than just accuracy to consider whether any given post should be given prominent placement among othe

Hm, interesting direction once you've decided to give up on open source, but that seems a bit of a leap.

Hm, I don't quite understand, if I have multiple A records, is it still a single point of failure? Could you clarify the difference between having a bunch of SRV records and a bunch of A records here?

Just from the article and some of the comments here, it's not quite clear to me what the motivation for making HTTP use SRV records is. To me, naively, it seems like relying on A/AAAA records a) "works", and b) is centra

The interaction between borrow-checking and closures restricts what else you can do while you have a closure in scope that closes over some variables, so (like many rust features) they aren't a drop-in replacement for their counterpart
