Well maybe we can claw back the bonuses. You're right and I did think a bit on that after writing the comment. But there should be a clear incentive still to not go bankrupt and make their shares they hold worthless. With or without ma

The government controls the amount of dollars. It's not paying back out of coffers, just print the money. But if you really want to, you could cover the deposits from FDIC which is insurance paid by that bank. Secondly we're not b

I imagine this multi ton machine running over a fence, into a tree stump. The stump disconnects the wheel from the axle and it's no longer able to drive. I think what we're saying here is changing the oil is not allowed. You can&#

This is an odd comment in my opinion. Do you work at John Deere? I ask only because you say you are familiar with their testing environment. I don't think your horror scenario is realistic. How many farms are located in a neighborhood?

Which LLM can run on apple's neural cores / GPU cores? I can only run on plain ol' CPU cores (llama), and it runs fine on my Ryzen CPU for less than half the price of that system. That being said I'm switching from Ubunt

I tried to touch on that in my comment. I've used training methods such as LoRA: Low-Rank Adaptation of Large Language Models. I feel they work well to train it on a specific subject, but it's at the cost of over-riding other weig

If this is the case and we assume there is no state shared between the summarization phase and the expansion phase, doesn't this suggest that this is just a giant "over-fit" ml model, more like a compression algorithm (a very

I said it looks ok, not good. My comment is mostly about me being surprised a valid regex came out. I also asked it to write a regex to parse html which it happily answered. What does gpt4 say about parsing html ;)

Finally I can use this to write a regex to parse HTML! (Glad to finally able to bust out the meme)

I did not verify this regex, on the very surface scan seems OK: ./main -m ./models/7B/ggml-model-q4_0.bin -t 4 --temp 0.7 --top_k 40 --top_p 0.5 --repeat_last_n 256 --repeat_penalty 1.17647 -n 1024 -p $'Here is a ha

I can take a stab. I imagine, if everything else stayed the same (rent, food etc) and the government raised income tax, companies would be forced to pay more wages to cover the gap. IE most of the increase would come out of the employer

The fed has backstopped the FDIC. Instead of letting taxpayers foot the bill, of which are majority of payers are the very wealthy, they will foot the bill via inflation by rolling back some of the QE. Sure it's just a loan but what if

If the future could affect the past, it suggest that then if time reversed, you would notice something unusual right? Kind of like suggesting there is a side effect in your function (consciousness). Kind of like how today, past events can i

You're not giving them enough credit. Pun not intended. They paid down high interest accounts with the spare cash hence the evidence I saw, fico score increase across the board. If they had just been taking on more debt with the same i

The trend has been that people are using bailouts, stimulation, and low interest loan consolidation to pay down high interest credit accounts since the pandemic started. I worked in underwriting for a few years, into the pandemic. The FICO

Yes good hard numbers. The problem is many still consider it a shortage because they think that hoarding their starter home when they've moved on to home 2, and 3, and so on means a shortage still. The hoarding has in fact led to a sho

I am in the same camp as you. But I think the approach of "cut x% over and over" to keep the stock afloat at some point is not going to work forever, since a company is not very competitive at 0% of its original engineering /

I'm in the same boat. I've been using TypedDict all over the place and it's quite nice! The only plus side to dots I had was the IDE auto-filling it, and my IDE seems to work just fine with TypedDict.

I have a lot of experience messing around with these. It looks unchanged from godot 3.5 to 4.0 for the skeleton things. I actually wound up writing my own, which just copies rigid bodies matrix to each bone manually using gdscript.

Could repairing an ev in your driveway run afoul of this? Sounds like yes. Leaking oil into the ground and air conditioning gasses into the atmosphere is already illegal. It sounds like preventing car repair is purely a nefarious regulation

I think part of the problem is that criminalization of heroin is what made fentanyl so wide spread, since it is much smaller volume and easier to smuggle about. A side effect is that it's much easier to dose incorrectly and kill people
