I would make the point that it might make sense to leave the initial price point low, and add plugins perhaps or a marketplace, and support options at higher price points. You can sell the "infinite" (the bits) for low price (price IS diffe

That part set off my BS detector actually. The article claims some humans can detect it in 5 parts per TRILLION. Is that even POSSIBLE?

I know this is WAY too late to be helpful, but I wonder if hitting the HOME key would have put you back at the start of the line. Either way, completely unacceptable UI for sure.

This kind of treatment is inexcusable. I canceled my safari subscription, and told them why.

Coming from a programming background as well, I would like to make a couple points: It helps to preface constructive criticism with praise. Make sure they understand what you LIKE before you dive into "rough edges". I find it helps a LOT t

I don't care for the whole "flatUI" trend, but I REALLY can't stand this kind of blatant abuse of the DMCA (which itself can be argued to be an abuse of common sense).

Thank you for the write-up on this! Like you, that has been a pet-peeve of mine as well. I wonder if we can get a comment from Amazon or Nycto, on why the search box is not auto-focused though. This seems like such a natural thing to do,

I am pretty sure you can install anything you want on the Surface Pro, and from any source you like. The Surface RT is locked down, but not the Pro as i understand it.

Yes, redundant boxes would probably be the best bet for data of that size. Remember though, raid is NOT a backup. When possible make sure to send copies to multiple places!

I really dig this kind of simplicity and clarity. The similarity to python really helps to keep things understandable. Any chance of making this work with http://angularjs.org/ ?

This is great! I really wish there were a developer commentary track that you could listen to as you read the source code. Would be really cool to hear what they thought about with specific routines, or neat hacks they used to make things

This is a REALLY bad headline. That pull quote does not exist ANYWHERE in the article. As much as I dislike Fox "news", this headline feels like complete BS.

How would you read the state? If, at the lowest energy state, there is no energy output, would even photons change the state? If so how would you read the "time" from it? Does that make any sense?

This seems like a VERY good idea! Even when i take the time to read the TOS on sites (granted, it is rare), i come away unsure that i really understand it. This seems like an excellent way to deal with this issue too! Thanks ToS;DR!

I have to wonder if this ad would have made it past "The Steve" while he was at the helm. It seems very out-of-sync with what they did then. Is this indicative of where Apple is heading I wonder?

That is exactly the point though. Since there AREN'T enough competitors, the free market does not work. BEING a competitor means laying cable, getting right-of-ways, getting other permissions from local government, etc. It is not somethi

Doesn't that ignore the effect of government granted monopolies? Since some ISPs are granted monopoly status by local governments, by definition the free market can't work. So, as in cases of civil rights, maybe the answer IS to attach ne

Actually that seems like an interesting idea! If we did, maybe we could have non-proprietary car parts for instance? Better drugs? Fewer patent monopolies granted? Am I missing something fundamental in your point?

That is a good point. I did not mean the quotes as scare quotes, just to emphasize the idea that this might not be a core libertarian argument, but seems to be held up as such. I honestly don't know for certain. The idea that it harms the

That argument would hold sway if being an ISP did not have such a huge barrier to entry. Having to run physical cables GREATLY reduces the pool of business that can afford to enter that market. This of course, reduces the number of compet
