Also, aortega wrote "Operative System" instead of "operating system", so because of that incorrect terminology, we can ignore everything in the post. That's how this works, right?

Hi, two things. People knowing that you have account yyy@example.com at example.net could use that information in a spear-fishing attack, or know that you're involved in a controversial website, prohibited website, etc. Emails were not

You may not be trying to troll, but either you didn't bother reading the article or they added details since you read it (doesn't seem likely). They answer this near the end of the not-very-long article.

Alternatively, people can just download langid.py[1] and do language detection locally. This is not a particularly hard problem - I think it's doable by undergrad ML or NLP classes. The tricky parts are usually political - are users go

They've "fixed" it so that you just copy and paste the URL to share whatever you're seeing in the map. Yes, in some ways, it's not obvious, but mainly because the "obvious" way of sharing the URL didn'

No, this is just your angry knee-jerk reaction so you can feel good about taking the moral high-ground, and you're scrambling to find the negative in every comment. The comment you're replying is a detailed comment that also state

Problem is, those partitions are far too leaky as people, goods, and money move across the partition so freely.

I may be biased, but the amount of "putting them in their place" comments is disproportional to how much they overestimate themselves. I doubt Tiffany thinks that she's going to be debugging C++ for Google's [redacted] w

Soylent fans would argue that this alone is a valid benefit of Soylent - reasonable, healthy nutrition that takes no planning or decision-making, and is cheap and easy. Getting people to eat better is not an easy problem to fix. (BTW, it&#x

The methodology behind this study is pretty shaky. Most concerning is that their main claim - that $312 is a lot more than $18 - isn't held up by much searching. As an example, you can get a decent silicone nano wristband for $2.78 onl

Some of the things they listed are dubious... Writing to a file, there’s File.Write([]byte) and File.WriteString(string) – a bit of a departure for Python developers who are used to the Python zen of having one way to do something Simpl

Generally you're using some kind of sampling algorithm to randomly sample from the light distribution in the scene, so it's easy to calculate N different images of the same scene, and then average them together. If it's not the whole image

The public-transit lines just connect the different stations/stops. Riders don't usually care so much where exactly their bus or train goes through, since they can only alight at certain points.

If the new Compose interface was actually that awful, it wouldn't have seen the light of day. What do you think Google employees use for all their email all the time? The window is not that tiny - compare it to the chat window, for example.
