It's unfortunate, because there are some improvements like WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android) [1] that I think are a big step in the right direction. The problem is the OS is becoming user-hostile in order to squeeze every last penny

I am not upgrading from Windows 10. These newer releases are turning the OS into an ad-serving platform, which is unfortunate because the user is essentially paying for the OS. Microsoft is trying to have its cake and eat it too. If I'

Did you know there are 5 desal plants currently operating in California, with more in the permitting pipeline? 10,000x more capacity is not feasible and more importantly not going to solve this problem. Catalina Island now uses desalination

I believe the current IRS restriction on the plans themselves is 15% deferral of paychecks, unfortunately. Sounds like a sweet deal you had!

Many plans I've participated in cap contributions well before the theoretical 25k limit. Current employer has a very interesting plan that leaves much of the limits up to you which is a double edged sword. If you can figure out how to

Having a lookback increases the upside massively. It's almost an entirely different investment product versus the vanilla - take an X% discount every couple months.

I think the thinking of the prior poster here is 1) it's not just you, it's your partner too. So that's two seats x # flights/yr. 2) with the extra seat miles you are occupying, airlines can sustain their existing routes

Keep in mind that the large employers pay Equifax and give them your pay data. Equifax/TWN has a brilliant business model that should be illegal. Get paid to collect data, then resell it.

A few data points as the picture is murky and mixed: The wider "grid" is managed by CAISO - the independent system operator. LA's utility is municipally run, in contrast to the big 3 IOUs in the state - PGE, SDGE, SCE. SDGE h

This was an explicit goal of housing policy in the US 100 years ago. Read any text from that time period and you will see that housing was viewed as an investment and the foundation of wealth. Policy was therefore supportive of this view. I

To your last comment - the royalty on ASP is capped. Apple had argued in court over this with claims that shoving more storage into a phone led to more licensing fees which was not the case. I can't speak to whether the pricing on this
