Everyone manages their own lists, having a single person manage the lists would probably be a micromanagement nightmare for both the manager and the employees. We all have visibility over all the lists so if we feel anyone has prioritisatio

Note that they specifically say not to use the goconvey DSL, ie. just use *testing.T. goconvey without it's DSL is just an automated FS watcher and test runner with coverage reports.

I really want what Atom is trying to achieve, which is essentially an open source Sublime Text, but I can't help but worry they're shooting themselves in the foot with their architecture.

I don't think it's correct to assume that working from home results in reduced communication, communication takes on different forms but good communication out of the office is equally as much of a challenge as good communication

Have used RethinkDB with a few projects now, mainly in Go with dancannon's Go driver[1], and have found it very functional and robust and has become my go-to schemaless database. My largest project has been running a couple of years no

The fact that this became a back and forth of people arguing which is worst just highlights the fact that this sort of low level infrastructure needs to be free and open.

I can't help but feel the water in nearly all simulations I see is more viscous than water in real life, it looks more sticky and solid to my eyes. It still looks amazing and quite convincing though.

Logarithmic scale solves that problem if you're interested in the rate of growth.

The scale on the "searches" graph is horrible, some sort of broken linear scale which makes it impossible to gauge growth or make any useful comparison. They really need logarithmic scale there.

The second half of the article sounds like a sales pitch. It would have been nice to see some thoughtful analysis based on the deltas of the languages from those rankings over 2014. All of those rankings are biased in their own ways, hence

I hope this doesn't affect the unique pragmatism you find around here. I've seen a lot of ego-stroking back-patting around here recently which don't add substance to conversations, should we have a guideline around gratuitou

FontForge [1] is available in most Linux distro package repositories and is very powerful for creating and editing fonts. There are Private Use Areas (PUA) in Unicode [2] where you could create custom glyphs as needed. [1] https:/&#x

As convenient as GitHub is, let this be a lesson to ensure you have multiple remotes for your repositories. The more popular GitHub gets, the more it will become a target from a wide range of vectors.

While practically no official information exists publicly, this appears to be the reason. My gut tells me that the lack of structure in UDP makes it a little harder to inspect too.

UDP used to work (~3 years ago) but currently it's blocked wholesale. OpenVPN over TCP gets throttled and blocked thanks to DPI too, an obfuscation layer is required because OpenVPN traffic is identifiable due to a fairly unique encry

TCP over TCP for VPN is pretty useful in places where deep packet inspection blocks UDP by default, eg. GFW in China.
