Have used RethinkDB with a few projects now, mainly in Go with dancannon's Go driver[1], and have found it very functional and robust and has become my go-to schemaless database. My largest project has been running a couple of years now and has accumulated a significant amount of data, and RethinkDB hasn't had any trouble at all scaling with my data growth. I'm running it on servers below the recommended requirements too (512MB DO instances) and have been really impressed with how it handles constrained resources.
