In a just world, these charges never would have been brought. In a sane world, a judge will dismiss these charges. We're not living in the first world, and I fear we're not in the second anymore, either.

25-30 miles is right on the cusp of "an unmanageably long commute", to me. Especially if anything goes wrong.

Am I alone in thinking Apple should be worrying more about fixing iOS 7 rather than porting it to a lot of new devices? It is easily the buggiest version of iOS I've used (4 through 7.)

Good riddance. It's pure garbage, regardless of the legal reasons behind the takedown.

There are so many things that can be done digitally that bump up against the first, fourth, and fifth amendments as well as laws about the destruction of evidence. It's a mess.

Comments like this are why I wish "Shit HN Says" still existed on Twitter. Holy crap. The level of pie-eyed idealism is just astounding. Yeah, it's a good thing this $400M theft just happened! It's a feature, not a bug

The hacker really only needs to be slightly smarter than whoever wrote that bad PHP in the first place. It's not implausible really that they'd send it through the same address.

It's because the powers-that-be decided, in their infinite wisdom, that any modification of a link's title is "editorializing". Thus we get ridiculous stuff like this, instead of something more illuminating.

People really need to stop consulting mtgox for BTC prices. I still hear it's "the largest exchange" on the news from time to time, which is equally stupid, as it hasn't been that in a long time. It's a poorly-run

Sixty hours a week was a short week in the old days Back when we "employed" children and didn't have maternity leave? I don't think there are any reasons to hearken back to those days.
