Being a solo-consultant (or small firm) is extremely taxing from my experience and I stopped after 4 years of travelling too much, sleeping in stupid hotel beds, having 5 days of uninterrupted 120% work with 4-10 people, never getting to se

Sunk cost fallacy at work here. Yes, side projects may never pay back dev investment, but if you have already written all that code and invested, then you should not use that as a cost factor to make decisions about the future.

I take around 10-20 personal trips to family and friends every year, for around 1000-1500€ of "standard" fares, but pay only half with the BC50. I don't own a car. The card would cost me 250€/year so its quite a big savi

How exactly did you communicate with them? My wife had a very nice experience with Bahncard re-subscriptions that she cancelled after the fact. But even then, you know what you get into when ordering the service. Yes, it is a subscription.

you can install a tool "pwgen" on linux machines that will generate you passwords, configurable with size and types of characters included. pwgen -y 40 1 Generates one password with 40 chars, including special chars (-y).

What has shipping to do with the products quality? There are two things you buy at amazon: 1. a physical product 2. the amazon service and shipment. The second one should IMHO not be relevant for the peoduct review, yet many rate them and s

if you share Ansible inventory files that are encrypted with ansible-vault, then this is not happening. But i still wouldn't want to have a public repository with the files and the metadata of servers that is clearly not meant for publ

The incentive changes for this are so massive, nice "experiment" from an economics perspective. 1. penalizes OpenSource organizations that need a few private repos for password, server configuration or other things. Was 25$ before

god beware if your open source project needs a single private repository to share passwords between admins for example or private config for your webserver. Suddenly you see yourself at 394$ compared to the 7$ you paid before.

yes, but you are comparing apples to oranges. If you had to jump from 125 to 300 users in ONE step as per the current pricing model instead of paying only for the marginal next user. Recognizing the repository steps are a pain for customers

any government budget is just too big to get any feeling for this imho. And you can either always argue that its just spend on the wrong things, like military, espionage, social security or that others are not paying enough, like Apple only

I am not sure this is the solution, but you could call "ldd <file>" on a unity generated binary to see system dependencies. If they statically compile stuff into the game, that's another question.
