Off-topic, but.. > refused to update or support our Windows machines past 7 What's your long term strategy? Is there a silver bullet?

IMO, €32k is decent for a junior position with 1 year experience. Isn't that the average wage, generally?

Honestly, from not ever using nginx to having an auto-renewing "A+" HTTPS site took no longer than 3 hours.

Same could be said about their IRC gateway.

This is good news for me. My company was considering Slack - the only reason it was agreed was due to the IRC gateway. So it looks like slack is out of the question now.

I'm guessing it's cheaper. Why else would they?

Well, it's unfortunate that we have people like this who make employers feel the need to track their workers.

At companies that let you decide for yourself (I've worked at 4), it's Mac and Linux. Windows is rare.. but there's usually one or two. Different IDEs. Just use whatever your more comfortable/efficient with. Admin use Wi

I know this doesn't really apply to Amazon, however I think it's irresponsible striking on the companies busiest days. If you want to keep your job, your company needs money. If you want better wages/conditions, your company

I would love to see what you develop. My graphics card supports the native UI elements of Windows. My users don't want a "Save as" dialog with life-like water refraction and fog, rendered at higher FPS than their monitor.

Did you check for Linux support before you purchased it? If not, you can't blame Dell for your choice. (I'm the type of person to buy the car before choosing the tyres)

I find that to be irrelevant for development (except games, of course). In fact, my graphics card (the cheapest to support Vista) is the only thing I haven't upgraded in the past 5+ years. And it was from eBay, used.

You list "benefits" that you're able to discount (there are far more), and your "costs" are straw-men quibbles (1st & 3rd are the same, 2nd only relates to Windows users), it's obvious where you bias lies.

That's for performance because I guess the majority of users would probably not notice the difference. They can be represented in JS, but not natively.

It's not an issue. I've noticed dart2js performance is as good as hand-written js. At least with dart2js I have just one "VM" to target - Google have sorted the x-browser issues for me. Imagine the peculiarities you&#x

Mobile + cloud to me just infers "thin client + central server". Ironic; The very thing that MS helped the world move away from. Anyway, they were late to both parties, now it's full steam ahead to catch up with the rest, wha
