It is useful for IT staff especially on big properties or when working remote since we don't have to wait for a user to wake up a machine for us or go there ourselves, as long as one on the lan is reachable. I did this in 2022.

A good way to combat abuse is to not feed the trolls, don't engage beyond a warning or two, simply delete and definitely don't argue publicly.

It is also just not caring. In the US the largest voter bloc is non-voter most of the time, even in presidential elections, with primaries and midterms skewing even worse. It is better in Germany though, but not vastly so.

If you trust that the secure erase part of the firmware functions properly. There was work in the last 5 years to let the OS (at least Linux) do most of the SSD controller functionality which I think would be helpful if it caught on.

When people say reverse proxy they usually mean using nginx/etc to forward traffic to a normal service listening on a port, in that case you still need an open port. In Tunnelmole your "server" establishes long lived outbound

OpenAI's privacy policy makes this a no go for me. DDG's privacy policy claims they do not log IP addresses, where as OpenAI collects info such as your phone number and logs your IP. Privacy policies are only somewhat better than
