For the price point, it's a novelty. I've tried them once, but it wasn't good enough for me to pay such a premium on an, ultimately, inferior version of the real thing - or even other vegan products.

They should add a nepotism column for Germany.

I was one of the people not only perplexed by the positioning, but that they managed to raise money. Props to Suhail for selling it - it does make me wonder how many great ideas are slipping through purely from VC's requiring flashy sa

Our immune systems can't just "take a break" like it did during the pandemic. Its a muscle, you don't use it; it atrophies.

> what stops you to choose instance served by a company That when the goodwill of said company runs out, there is very little incentive for them to maintain the service (other than trying to monetize it).

Social accounts are monetizable & part of peoples brands now - “well if it blows up ah well” might be fine for you or for me, but might not be for others.

Mastodon is too fragmented to work... well. For example; this tweet: https://twitter.com/joinmastodon/status/1585756076305444864 . Would you really host your email on a server that some dude in rural Canada runs in

I will say this; I've been really disappointed with the journalism coming out about this - especially TechCrunch. There was an article yesterday [1] that read like a high-schooler writing about their favourite popstar getting dumped. T

I would tell anyone buying a mechanical/automatic watch to also buy a watch winder. Complaining about the fragility of (in this case) cheap consumer products is also, unfortunately, self-defeating. I have a Tag Heuer that I've bee

Wow, rewind 2 years and the comments for any GitLab post looked really different. I'm still a GitHub user/fan - but seems the GL folks might want to pay attention.

> because naming stuff is hard This feels like a weak argument. Yes, naming things are hard - but we name classes, variables, dom elements & everything else every day. There are also really good naming patterns for CSS out there too

I don't like massive long class names on my DOM elements. And I don't think it makes the code look/read nice. Tailwind is so close to CSS that I'm often left scratching my head as to why people don't just write CSS
