Then try thinking outside the box a bit, something like card.ly did for their online business cards site could work.

You seem to have a broken image (actually it's an empty img tag) on your landing page. It also looks a bit oddly formatted at least on my Mac w/FF 3.5. You might want to consider adding your site to my new startup, launchly, for additional

From a development standpoint, no. But I used to work for a company that did this because they wanted to make it as easy as possible for their users to recover their passwords... by emailing it to them...

I hate statistics. Seriously you can just about link anything to anything. I should create a study linking writing Ruby code to increased sex appeal.

I cry and hope it magically happens while I'm not looking. But seriously I have not really addressed i18n in my apps yet. I would say how you go about it is going to depend at least a bit on your framework/programming language. I'm using

Are you sure you're not going overboard with that? Is spam that much of a problem for your site that this is necessary? I've never been a big fan of throwing up too many roadblocks to real people to keep out the minority of spammers. If y

Nicely done site. Love the layout and design. Very clear what you offer on the landing page. The tour was also nicely accessible. I didn't sign up because I don't really have any events to plan right now. As an aside, my site, launchly

Another vote for jquery. It makes javascript not suck (or at least suck less).

What kind of site is it? An obviously important aspect that you didn't mention is building a site that people will be interested in and care about... If nobody cares about what you made then all the ads, SEO tricks, and blogging in the wor

I don't think anyone should be faulting the advertisers. Some of the may not even know what's going on yet. Others may have advertising contracts in place that extend well into the future. They're not advertising on TechCrunch to support

Interesting list and doesn't have much overlap with mine. What sites would you categorize as "Acquiring Things" and "Fixing Things"?

Depends what you're trying to track I suppose but I use Pivotal Tracker for everything I work on (programming-wise) pretty much.

Video/cameras is pretty easy these days since there are a variety of wireless, networked cameras that provide their own web access so you can view them anywhere in the world. It's been awhile since I was researching alarm integration but fo

It depends on what you're trying to get out of it IMO. If you're looking for early-stage active feedback on your site I would have to suggest my own app, http://www.launchly.com . If you're looking for more passive/general/long-term feedba

Riiight... except this really doesn't have anything to do with cloud computing. This has to do with hackers breaking into systems which was very common prior to cloud computing and it has to do with corporate espionage prior to that before
