Dx7 is such a rad synth!! I had a few vintage synths when I lived in New York but sold them due to space. Just started getting back into it and there is some really cooo hardware out there. Especially digging the Elektron line right now. Pi

Very cool. I always expect a link like this to either be some super basic examples (e.g. how to implement flocking) or articles detailing techniques used in games from ~20 years ago. Very cool how recent and modern these are (along with sup

I was working on something similar (small mmo) a few years back and would have killed for at least one example that had been shared. Part of this was to see how they did gongs, part of it (more importantly to me) was to know that there were

Github felt like it deserved a callout here (Free if open, paid if closed). And there's no mention of free to play games which is a business mdoel powering a large chunk of a big industry.

I hadn’t heard about this project, thanks for sharing!!! QWTF was one of my first competitive games and I loved making custom maps for it.

Have you checked AT&T? I live in Santa Cruz (a small city) and was surprised to find that they wired my neighborhood for fiber last year. Price is competitive with Comcast and it’s been solid since I signed up a few months ago.

Thanks for introducing me to the Microbrute!! Just watched a ton of videos and I like how simple the design is. Looks like it’s a great starter kit (in the video I watched, they recorded a simple piece then spent a bunch of time tweaking so

Great idea to show viability of solar setups! I’ve installed a simple solar panel / charge controller / battery solution in a van and was surprised how simple it is to get up and running. The tech is really reliable and is super a

I have a 2015 Impreza and find the built in UI cumbersome and annoying. It has a few bugs where it can get stuck on a specific menu and it also doesn’t update the song that’s playing via Bluetooth from Spotify etc. I feel like there are a t

Great story - thanks for sharing :) In hindsight, do you think it was any different? (Microcomputer vs mainframe for the disassembled you were talking about building)

I’ve been using zeit / now for the past two months to host static sites and it’s been excellent. Haven’t tried a node app yet but their core service seems really easy to use and I haven’t had any issues.

Great post! I’ve seen the hardware side of manufacturing and also been amazed at how hard packaging / filling is when my ex launched a hair care line... her conditioner was also too viscous to go through the factory nozzles :/

I take notes in Markdown in an editor that formats it automagically called IA Writer. Bullets are indented, headlines bolded and out-dented, etc.

I use IA Writer for my mac which is a great notes app that supports dropbox syncing, focus mode, etc and also offers markdown support.

I shop at Whole Foods every week in Santa Cruz and haven’t noticed anything you’re describing. We still have a good selection of fruit/vegetables and meat/bread/cheese sourced from local farms.
