Thursday morning cynicism maybe but: Your mathematician makes 6 assumptions (maybe one of them realistic) to build a model and then thinks mathematics "knows" something about the world and its ways.

I think it would help the discussion if you could define a "large app" as far as JavaScript is concerned and why you think it is a "nightmare".

But it will not write JavaScript the way you would write it - and (avoiding arguments about personality in code) that JavaScript will be way harder to follow and debug.

But JavaScript is not (another daft meme) "the assembler of the web" as it is itself interpreted (or what have you) into byte code for execution. The point is that one should limit the level of abstraction to one which sits in that comfort

The very best of luck when it comes to debugging the code when it is running in the browser. Maybe your experiences are different to mine but I avoid such abstractions wherever possible. It has become fashionable to say things like "JavaScr

A lot of the "gas" you wont be spending money on would be because the range is pretty small. Next weekend I will be hopping into a car that has sat outside the house doing nothing for a month or so and drive it 1,000 km to the South West of

But there is a huge difference between the length of a warranty and one's reasonable expectation of a functional lifetime. My last car only came with a 4 year warranty (now expired) but I bet it is still driving just fine in another 10 year

I don't know the specifics of this model but most electric cars on the market come with a lease agreement for the batteries - you don't get to own them. I also understand that the batteries need swapping in a lot less than 10 years.

A review does not include the words "Turns are accomplished (or so I'm told) with hardly any body lean...". Not a review but a short ride in a $100,000 car - so no surprises that the reporter found some elements nice. Mind even this stage m

Does rather have the feel of an academic exercise though. Notice all possible outcomes are the result of some grand conspiracy. Probably see some write up on this experiment in community paranoia late in the year.

What nonsense. OK - the title is supposed to be link bait but... jQuery is a platform - a foundation of you like that abstracts away the complexity of a large number of common tasks. You build your design on that foundation - and that is wh

You can see the vote count for your own comments. However it is probably true to say that the standard of comment debate has improved now that scores are no longer shown - it has also (in my judgement) reduced the incidence of down-voting c
