A quick review shows that you do indeed ask a lot of questions. Some have attracted a good number of karma points so this would imply that the more interesting ones are getting the attention they deserve. Of course, time of day can have an

To be fair - not everything you might want to do with a "large format" web design will work well on a small screen device - better to produce a dedicated front end for them than present a broken web site.

Picky I know, but "wont" is not an English word - you probably mean "won't" which is a contraction of "will not" and even then should probably not be repeated too often in a single sentence.

Odd sort of rant. There is an old proverb about workmen blaming their tools. You don't say what your target platform is/was and why you did not pick the relevant "mainstream" tool to do your "professional" development task. NS Basic was a b

Unless I am missing the point JavaScript array.map(function) would cover it... Close equivalent available for any enumerable vector in C# - even VB can manage it with a slightly more verbose syntax...

We have tried a few - but currently use Fasthosts ( http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/ ). Not perfect but pretty good in my opinion and if you subscribe to their RSS feed you get early warning of any technical problems. You might find that their

I talked to some IT directors here in the UK. They are of the opinion that a well speced Windows 8 device that combines the utility of a Tablet and a notebook PC will be of great interest to them for all staff who work away from their desks

Is this post confusing Java the language/runtime with an Operating System (OS) like Android's? Is that not like suggesting that C# and .NET compete with Windows in some way?

Could be the subject of a good eBook that could be kept reasonably up to date as time (and the key sites of interest) passed. Otherwise - why not just email him a link every day until he is a confident Internet voyager?

I quite liked the look of RubyMotion http://www.rubymotion.com/developer-center/ for iOs development (as I fancied using Ruby) but I cant say I have tried it - sorry.

For me, IKEA stores are a vision of that hell that so many religions like to scare their adherents with. There is not a single thing about them that does not chill me. That endless one way system can drive a man to despair - long before he

Love the phrase "a standard web browser" - having just written two web apps, I can attest that there is no such thing. You can write an app that sort of works on most browsers or you have to bite the bullet and tailor a version for each of

I would avoid anything that distracts you from the main job in hand - working on the projects. Lists are good - things to do both "must have" and "would like" - plus "yet to be tested" as things develop. Anything you cant just keep reliably

It was a shame that just as the cassette recorder/player was "perfected" (Dolby S) it was also made redundant by a brief flurry of new technologies (mini-disk, digital tape) and then finally killed off with cheap and cheerful mp3. I still h
